Referee Development Coordinator

Appointed Remote/In-Person · Incentive based, bonus from Ad revenue & store profit
Applications close September 30, 2026

NCOA North Basketball is seeking a highly organized, people-oriented Referee Development Coordinator to help ensure every one of our officials is trained, prepared, and eligible to step on the court when the season begins. This is a key behind-the-scenes role focused entirely on our officials' growth and readiness.

Your primary responsibility will be monitoring each referee's CIF requirement and training progress, making sure every official has completed the proper training before the season starts. You'll keep close track of who's on pace, who needs a nudge, and who still has requirements to finish — and follow up accordingly. That means staying in regular communication with officials, as well as coordinating with the various private and connected trainers throughout the area to line up the right development opportunities for our members.

Because this role touches so many people and moving parts, strong organizational skills are essential — you'll be tracking requirements, deadlines, and training across the entire group. Clear, consistent communication is just as important, since you'll be the connective tissue between officials, trainers, and leadership. Some travel may be required to attend trainings, meet with trainers, or observe development sessions in person.

This position is incentive-based: your bonus is tied to the success of the association, drawn from advertising revenue and online store profits. If you're organized, communicative, and passionate about helping officials succeed, this is a rewarding way to make a real impact on the quality of our officiating.

Requirements

  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail, tracking many officials at once

  • Strong communication skills, comfortable with frequent outreach to officials and trainers

  • Familiarity with CIF training requirements (or willingness to learn)

  • Ability to build and maintain relationships with area trainers

  • Willingness and ability to travel occasionally

  • Reliable computer with internet access
