NCOA North Basketball Group Leadership met today, and has finalized several key dates and plans for the upcoming 2026–2027 SJS/CIF High School Basketball Season.
The high school basketball season is scheduled to begin on November 23, 2026, with preseason scrimmages expected to take place around November 14, 2026. To ensure new officials are prepared for the season,
New Officials Training will begin September 22, 2026.
LJ Guidry, Jon Bent, James Frazee, Eman Sanatkar, Sport Barclay, Jerry Ousley and the rest of NCOA North Group Leadership met on August 30 to finalize the training plan and curriculum for the upcoming season. The curriculum is now being prepared for online publication, and communications will be sent to new officials shortly.
While officials will have online access to training materials when necessary, Group Leadership strongly encourages in-person attendance. As part of a new proposed incentive, officials attending training sessions in person will receive an additional one hour of training credit for travel time, compared with those completing the session online.
The NCOA North General Body Meeting is scheduled for October 13, 2026, at 6:00 PM at Jesuit High School. The additional one-hour in-person attendance credit will also apply to this meeting.
NCOA North is ready to get the 2026–2027 season underway and looks forward to another successful year of training, development, and high school basketball officiating.
